Many moons ago, I used to serve cocktails in a Mexican Restaurant & Cantina. Surprisingly we did an incredible amount of business on St. Patrick’s Day, I mean we did serve green beer and green margaritas during Happy Hour! Anyways, when working in a bar, you got to know the drinking holidays pretty well, and the fact that St. Patrick’s Day and Cinco de Mayo are on the same day of the week each year. The other two that match up are the 4th of July and Halloween. Nowadays, I know what day of the week May 5th is on for an entirely different reason, you’ll have to wait until then to find out! I did work in a prime rib restaurant that served up corned beef and cabbage, plus the requisite green beer, and here in Orange County, Keno’s, the restaurant my husband worked in, is serving up corned beef and cabbage today, along with green beer. So order some Irish grub, and the grab yourself a Guinness, Irish whiskey, a pint of green beer, or any drink, and Sláinte to us coming out of a year of ____.
