So today was spent getting my newsletter landing pages just right, along with signing up for email marketing, and on top of that getting my business listed on Google. I am home-based, and really do not want people showing up, so there is a way to verify without using your actually address, by tagging your website. The other day, I finagle my email so everything comes through Gmail. I want to know when I get an email, and not have to juggle between tabs. For my email marketing, I am going with Constant Contact, and see if I want to pay $20 a month after 60 days. As for supplementary names, I decided to go with The Cross Sauce for my newsletter, to go along with Cross Talk for the blog. I am not sure if I’ll keep them that way, but for now that’s what I am going with.
I don’t want to be officially in business until I have all my ducks in a row,so to speak. Although, I have a very small time frame, in which to get everything set up, so I can start accepting clients. I wasn’t expecting for my life to get totally turned upside down three months ago, but here I am, starting a virtual bookkeeping business that needs to be up and running at the latest, May 1st!
By the way, you might have noticed I started backlinking the resources I have used. I learned about doing that with my wedding planning business.Technology has changed quite a bit since I last had my own company, but the basics are still the same. Doing my research for this post, I also learned the Google now goes through mobile sites before desktop. Smart phones were just coming out then, so desktop sites ruled! Since I am just getting my feet wet again, so to speak, I am not getting any money from anyone that I have mentioned, yet. In 2008, affiliate marking was just starting to pick up steam, so I used my sidebars for the companies that I partnered with. If someone clicked, and bought something, I made a bit of money. I still have them up on my wedding planning blog. See, I did it again.
